A game as popular as Halo 3 has many fans, and those fans want Halo 3 mods. The mods are available on many web sites, created by people who love the game. Halo 3 mods take on many forms – maps, weapons, physics modifications, and much more. This keeps people playing for a very long time.
Halo 3
To create a Halo 3 mod a person requires certain tool sets and know how. Halo 3 consists of a number of file types to view, edit and save. As well, hardware is needed to let a PC communicate with the Xbox 360 drive. This is absolutely necessary because the Xbox 360 is not a platform on which files can be modified. In the past the hardware developers, in this case Microsoft, would make the tools available to people who pay the licensing fee. However, the modding community figured out the file formats and developed their own tools for editing those files.
Halo 3 mods can be found at ModHalo. It not only has a lot of mods, reviews of mods, but also tools and guides to help people mod Halo 3. It’s really just a message board where posts contain the information. One of these mods is a map based on McDonald’s, posted in October of 2008. It received a pretty low rating, 53%, that shows not all the mods are good ones.
Halo 3 Cheats
Most people agree not to use a Halo 3 mod to cheat. Once in awhile a mod is great fun to see Halo 3 in a new way. But if they’re used to make the game unfair in favor of one person or team, they destroy the overall game experience for everyone.
