Are Women Better Free Poker Games Players?
Controversial or just obvious? Do men and women play poker in different styles even in free poker tournaments and is the fairer sex better?
This may not be something that a lot of players are able to pick up on. However, I have noticed it a great deal from playing at different tables both free poker games and high stakes, online and casino. My observation is that lady poker players tend to be a little more careful than male players. They tend to play hands less frequently, and just take down small pots in order to keep above water. Male players on the other hand, are more aggressive; they are more likely to take bigger risks, and get themselves involved in larger pots.
Although it may be a biased opinion, I feel strongly towards my claim and have no doubts about what I’ve learned, as I say, it’s based on many hours of play at many different free poker games and paid online and offline tables.
Another observation is that it can be easier to push a woman off of a pot than a male player. Women tend to avoid the larger pots as I’ve mentioned already. That’s why it is often easier to buy a pot off of a female player than against a male.
Before anyone gets offended by that statement lets keep in mind that this happens because of the more conservative game played by many ladies – And this can, on the contrary, give the ladies a big natural advantage.
This is because men tend to jump the gun a little bit. They’ll try to force hands that aren’t meant to be. Not to say that only they do it, but once again, it’s just something I’ve noticed from playing myself. It seems to be especially prevalent in free poker games and tournaments where despite the lack of risk the women play a more sensible game with a more strategic objective as opposed to an all-in and hope mentality.
Overall, everybody has their strengths and weaknesses, there are very conservative male players and absolute manic women
The fact that you have read this far proves that you’re a better poker player than most either in real ability or potential. Accepting that you may have gender related playing styles can only be a good thing. Self analyse and determine what those traits may be and look to enhance the good and minimise the bad. Practice at free poker tournaments and never stop trying to improve!
